The PAL-V Liberty, known as the world's first flying car due to its combination of a gyrocopter and a car, will be showcased to a large audience during JACK’S Racing Day at the TT Circuit Assen. Europe's largest combined car, motorcycle, and kart racing event will feature this unique attraction on August 3 and 4.
The Dutch initiative PAL-V (Personal Air and Land Vehicle) took shape in 2008, with the first test flights following just four years later. In 2017, the PAL-V Liberty made its first public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Now, the vehicle has the proper certification for use on public roads, and the large audience at JACK’S Racing Day will have the opportunity to see the PAL-V Liberty in action.
PAL-V Liberty
The PAL-V Liberty addresses the need to travel faster and more flexibly, independent of (congested) roads. With a flight range of 500 kilometers and a maximum airspeed of 180 kilometers per hour, the Liberty can reduce travel times by a factor of 2 to 3. On the road, it has a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The Liberty seats two people and has a luggage capacity of 80 liters. PAL-V is in the final phase of aviation certification and will soon hand over the keys of the PAL-V Liberty “Limited Pioneer Edition” to its first customers.
With a FREE admission ticket for a seat on the famous TT stands, JACK’S Racing Day on Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4, will offer a full-day program of car races, motorcycle races, super kart races, stunts, and demonstrations. Hilde van Dam, representing the organization, stated: “We at LDP International b.v. are extremely proud that PAL-V has chosen our event to present the first flying car to a large audience.”
