MotoGP Legends, a pre-war Le Mans start and a World Premiere in the ‘Cathedral of Speed’.

Having unveiled their personal bronze plaque in the TT Legends Walk of Fame on the eve of the TABAC Classic GP, immortalizing MotoGP legends Kevin Schwantz and Randy Mamola in the city of Assen, the former TT-winners entertained thousands of fans at the legendary TT Circuit in September 2023. Their ultra rare vintage 500 cc Grand Prix motorcyles run by Team Classic Suzuki were part of an event packed with genuine classic racing cars and motorcycles dating from as far back as 1911.

MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR Assen World Premiere

Powered by a true classic in men’s personal hygiene since 1959, TABAC, the event marked the return of another legendary brand with MV Agusta motorcycles celebrating 35 victories at the TT circuit. Unveiled by the Mayor of Assen Mr. Marco Out, MV launched the exclusive MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR Assen, a world premiere!

During the Formula Legends sessions some exotic F1, F2, F3000 and F5000 cars, as well as an F1 2-seater in which F2 driver Richard Verschoor drove around the famous Dutch model Kim Veenstra, lit up the Cathedral of Speed. In between the demonstrations, which included a classic Le Mans start performed by the Dutch Vintage Sports Car Club and an F1 lap record attempt by Dutchman Klaas Zwart in his Jaguar R5 F1, some hard battles were fought in various racing series.
