Having acted as a promoter for the first ever Brazilian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Goiania in 1989, LDP is requested to organize and promote the all new Lucky Strike Rio Grand Prix at the Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet for 1995. Experiencing all sorts of organizational problems LDP decides to fly in a jumbo jet full of experienced Dutch officials to get things sorted. Despite the effort, the 1998 race is cancelled due to a low quality tarmac laid down by a local sub-contractor.
During these five years LDP expands its network in Brazil, working with ABN AMRO, with the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro Cesar Maia, with soccer player Romario de Souza Faria and tobacco company Souza Cruz, eventually landing LDP the promotion of the Hollywood Indy 400 race in Rio de Janeiro, the promotion of the PacWest Indycar Team with Christian Fittipaldi and global sponsorship for Dutch sidecar world champion Egbert Streuer.
