Intergamma, the biggest DIY-retailer in The Netherlands, adopts the GAMMA Racing Day starting a highly successful co-operation which would last for a decade. GAMMA operates 165 franchise DIY-stores in the Netherlands. With the event it aims to meet its customers in a different environment of which the racing and technology has a proven appeal.
The inaugural edition touches on innovation in mobility staging the world's first 'electric pit lane' during the TTXGP electric motorcycle race. The late Dutch astronaut Wubbo Ockels is the guest of honor demonstrating the 'Superbus', developed in conjunction with the Delft University of Technology.
In 2013 the event stages its first Formule One demonstration runs in co-operation with Red Bull Racing. 2015 sees Dutchman Max Verstappen draw a record number of visitors to the event.
